Note: STEP file export is only available in the Backflip web app.

You can export the AI CAD you've reconstructed in Backflip from the web app as portable and widely compatible STEP file that you can import into almost any CAD software.

To do so:

  1. Navigate to the part’s page. Login to the Backflip web app and find the part you want to export. Click on it to open up its part page.
  2. Download a STEP file of a specific CAD reconstruction. Hover over the specific CAD file you’d like export, then click on the three vertical dots that appear to bring up an action menu. Click on the ‘Download STEP’ option to export the CAD part as a STEP file and download it to your computer.
